Wall Collections

Wall Collections are becoming the most popular way to display portraits. I love how they bring everything together, the modern look they provide, and the availability of styles are endless. To some, this is a new concept, and I often hear how clients are unsure about decorating their home with their kids. My reply to that is why not? Your kids are who and what you love the most. They are what you invest your time and money into, they are your life. It only makes sense to adorn your walls with what you love. Why invest in art that is not about you, your family or who you are, when you can invest in portrait art that touches your heart and soul each time you see it; that you are happy and proud to display and show off; that you can pass down to your children and not only give them a piece of art, but a true family heriloom. These are really the things that matter to us, so why would anyone be hesitant to do so? I think part of it is there are so many "fast and furious" photography studios out there that we have become accustomed to wanting pictures of our children and family, but not wanting or knowing how to display them. These places don't offer the full service, they only snap a camera. You are left to decide what images are best, how to display them, what to give as gifts, etc, etc.
In the studio, when you preview your images from your session,Pam, along with great software, can work with your images and you can preview wall collections right there. It is a great tool to helping you decide. You can see images together, how they will look in color or black and white, how certain crops will work, and place them in numerous templates we have to see which collection works well for you.
I will be talking more about this in the future, but for now, take a peek at the images below. They are of some "traditional" art displays in the home.

When I look at these I think how much more powerful and personal the display would be if those images were of family. It just makes so much more sense to have someone you know on your wall versus some piece of art of a person you have nothing but money invested in.
The second one has three images across, first just some artwork, second three portraits of children, see how it can still be an artful display, and yet really adds a personal touch.

Each one of the displays shown, we can create in the studio. Along with many others.
Please keep checking in, I will be sharing more about wall collections, along with some images of my clients homes that are proudly displaying wall collections of their families. If you have any questions, or are interested in building a wall collection in your home, please contact me. I am always here to help.
