This is a maternity session I did a while back and forgot to feature it on the blog. Once the babies come, it becomes all about that and so the story goes.
I really love doing maternity sessions. I don't get a whole lot of them around here. I think the idea of them is just beginning to catch on. There are still allot of people who just are not open to it, but I think it is a great way to celebrate a pregnancy. This is a time in a woman's life that she most often does not feel her best. Even when the pregnancy is good to her, or she gets past the rotten morning sickness, we still have issues of feeling fat, un-attractive, and just overall hormonal and not ourselves. A maternity session with a trained professional photographer is so much more than just taking pictures. It is about the experience of celebrating your pregnancy. It is about feeling beautiful at a time when that can be difficult. It is a time for embracing all the changes in your body and realizing the beauty of the entire process. I understand the hesitancy in women, I could have never done it during my first pregnancy, and I wanted to with my second, but did not know where to go or even how to ask someone, it was still very new then. But sadly, just about the time my belly was "ripe", I was put on bedrest. However, I was open to it, and had I known that I could put myself into the trusted hands of a professional, I would have been so much more at ease and ready to do it.
Most times, women are hesitant and unsure even as they are in the midst of their session. That is why selecting the right photographer is so important. We know how to handle you and the session to take your apprehension and put it to rest. I have not had one woman leave my studio who was not happy she booked the maternity session. Then once they see their images, all I hear is how happy they are that they did it. Never regrets. Not once. I promise.
So if you are pregnant and thinking about having a maternity session, call me and we can talk about it. Let me answer any questions or reservations you may have. You can ask me anything, that is what I am here for.
